What is Your Privacy Right?
The right to privacy is a human right that every individual is entitled to. The general right to individual privacy guarantees the integrity of an individual’s immediate information and existence remains confidential.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of your Private Information
One of the most violated privacy rights of an individual is the distribution of private information without ones consent. There are strict policies that must be followed when ones information is handled.
When your private information is collected, it must be done in a way where you are aware what it is for and what it will be used for. There must always be a purpose behind the collection of ones information and the person must be aware. The government is at all times allowed to collect your personal information but you must be an official notification to the person on why.
Once you have agreed to give one your information it should not be used for any purpose other then the one it has been collected for. When your personal information is collected from you, you will be advised of its intended use at the point of collection.
Once handing over your information the recipient has agreed to not in any situation disclose your information to any person, body or agency unless given permission to by owner or is authorised to by the law (which the owner should be aware of).
